Well, we’re right here at the end of the school year and I want to say CONGRATULATIONS to the Graduating Class of 2008! Thanks for sharing so many of your memories with us this year! From the trials each of you have been through, to deciding which designs you preferred to go in to your album (pink polka dots or purple paisleys) to walking in to the studio minutes after receiving your acceptance letter to the University of Georgia (you go Kristen!) We are proud of you all! Sherry, your in my prayers. Your father is in God’s hands and as Taylor leaves to head off to college I want you to know you have a prayer warrior on your side. Keep your faith strong and He’ll get you through it. Amy, I’m going to miss working with you and Kelly! It has truly been a pleasure working with you two from the beginning of this school year to literally the end…. we’re still not completely finished… one more set of announcements. Grin. It’s been an awesome year! You guys mean so much to us! Between tears and laughter. We’ve seen it all.  And to the rest of you, thank you.  It’s been an amazing year!

We were invited to Saint Marys Middle School to speak to each of their career classes and had the wonderful opportunity of meeting so many awesome students! The teachers weren’t too bad either - but their questions weren’t as cool…. grin!) For example - “can I bring in my snake and be photographed with him?” It was so much fun! I know that I had a blast and hoped that I could inspire some of them to consider photography for their future. Of course I shared what my original interest were and what I went to school for but that I kept coming back to photography. Well, I received the most awesome letters from each of the students here recently! WOW! They really listened! it was so cool to see what each of them had to say! Of course I loved the part where they said they thought I was cool and a total blast to be around but the parts that were really touching was when they opened up to me. Sharing with me what their desires were for the future and hoping that they could succeed. Some were intrigued with the history of photography and just how images are processed and come to be a print you hold in your hand. They thought it was so cool to hear exactly what makes a camera do what it does. They never thought of the ‘behind the scenes’. They just know that when they push a button they have captured their image. I tried to encourage them to go play with those settings and just see what they can come up with. Learn your f-stops, shutter speeds. Aperture? What’s an aperture? So cute! A few others were more interested in the forensic science portion of my story and felt that I should have continued my education in this field. They really loved the story of the rotary blade cutting in to bone. Yuk. That’s when I knew it wasn’t for me and felt the calling more and more to pursue photography on a professional level. As I continue to strive for my masters in photography I want to encourage the students that I met in each of the career classes, as well as others that read this blog to pray over what it is that God would want for you then GO FOR IT! Jump in with both feet and don’t turn back. Always set your dreams big! Never stop believing in yourself. Have faith and keep your head held high! You can do it!
